New Business Underwriter- Medical Schemes Experience

An exciting opportunity for an Underwriter exists in our New Business Department.
- The position reports directly to the Service Manager: New Business
**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE**:
- A minimum of a Grade 12.
- Registered Nursing qualification. _(Advantages)_
- Medical Scheme Administration Experience, minimum of 2 years is essential.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Medical Scheme underwriting.
- Extensive understand of the Administration system.
- Working knowledge of MIP, 2 years essential.
- Knowledge of Medical Schemes Act, 2 years essential.
Good knowledge of ICD10 codes, medical conditions, and terminology, 2 year essential
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:
- Responsible for update and closing of new business workflows.
- Answering calls, responding to all written correspondence, and dealing with all enquiries timeously, efficiently, and effectively through to resolution
- Rendering professional and quality service to Members, Brokers, and clients.
- Assist in the maintenance of the Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Keep abreast of market changes and trends, bringing them into the underwriting standards and procedures where appropriate
- Maintain agreed service levels, quality and targets.
- Ad-hoc assistance to departments as operationally required
- Behave in alignment with the company and Team values
