The chosen AI, Process Optimisation, Database Management Graduate will have the authority to identify and implement new systems, workflows and processes, driving progress with fresh ideas. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, based full-time in Johannesburg.

**Responsibilities**:
- Database management: Administer and maintain the databases, ensuring they are properly organised, optimised, and secured.
- Data processing: Develop and implement data pre-processing pipelines to clean, transform and prepare data for AI model training and analysis.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
- Performance optimisation: Continuously monitor and analyse the performance of AI models and database systems.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement optimisations to enhance efficiency and responsiveness.
- Research and innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and database technologies.
- Research and propose innovative approaches to solving complex problems and improving existing processes.
- Testing and validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of AI models and database systems to ensure accuracy, reliability and scalability.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for AI models, algorithms, database designs and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure knowledge transfer and share best practices within the team.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong foundation in artificial intelligence, machine learning and process optimisation.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java for AI model development and database management.
- Familiarity with popular AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Experience in data processing, data integration, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Solid understanding of data structures, database design principles, and query optimisation.
- Knowledge of cloud-based AI services and databases (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset to tackle complex challenges.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders effectively.
