**Job Summary**: Tired of being a cog in a wheel and looking to set real action into motion?
As an established business operating in Cape Town, our client is a nimble developer and landlord. Focusing on a market which is too small for the REITs, but too big for smaller investors they have built up a portfolio of 62 industrial tenants across 8 sites which are regional offices for national and even international brands; A grade mixed use industrial boxes of up to 2,500sm. With a pipeline of new developments coming on board, as well as a newly refurbished small mall on their books they are looking to appoint a facilities manager for the first time. Whilst they have run all property management from their Bellville based offices for many years, they are looking to decrease the workload of the property manager who has oversight of this function currently, via various on-site maintenance staff. This roving role will become the custodian of all H&S as well as compliance issues for each tenant. It will also identify areas of risk, project manage various CAPEX outlays, and generally create a more methodical approach for all planned and unplanned maintenance issues. Due to the technical nature of the properties under management, it is important that the successful individual has an electrical, plumbing or mechanical qualification combined with at least 4 years' experience in industrial property facilities management. Furthermore, an eye for administrative detail and oversight on departmental budgeting and forecasting would be expected - perhaps on up front but as the portfolio grows this administrative function within the department would fall to you.
Enjoy a non-corporate environment where head office staff often work a 4-day week, which will have you based at their offices in Bellville but visiting sites in Richmond Park, Parow Industrial, Durbanville and Stikland and Bellville South.
