**Job Purpose**
- To provide high quality, innovative Africa Credit Research, addressing the needs of all stakeholders.**Responsibilities**:

- Produce thought-provoking, differentiated research that provide institutional clients, corporate clients and internal stakeholders with insight that enables better decision making
- Grow the Nedbank CIB Research franchise by undertaking content-based initiatives relating to management interaction, roadshows, workshops, and conferences
- Develop and maintain professional internal and external relationships by marketing own research through meetings, telephone calls, roadshows, and other relevant events
- Build a market leading Africa Credit Research product guided by client feedback and ratings
- Develop and maintain credit risk models
- Collaborate with other members of the Research team to produce cross-sector thematic reports
- Cross-collaborate with other teams in Nedbank CIB to identify client opportunities and manage risk
- Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate
- Mentor and coach young emerging talent into market leading analysts
- Share knowledge and industry trends with team during formal and informal interactions
- Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of Nedbank CIB Markets goals

**Essential Qualifications - NQF Level**
- Relevant degree

**Preferred Qualification**
- CA (SA)/ Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

**Type of exposure**
- Proven working experience as a credit analyst
- Up to date with legal, compliance and market risk related issues
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Previous experience in research within investment banking or Credit agencies
- Relevant professional qualification/honours degree or relevant Master’s

degree/CFA/MBA- Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets
- Influencing stakeholders to obtain buy-in for concepts and ideas
- Sharing information in different ways to increase stakeholders understanding
- Challenging the status quo with a view to improving the environment or peoples understanding
- Working with a group to identify solutions to a problem.

**Minimum Experience Level**
- At least 10 years credit research experience, covering corporate and sovereign credit issuers on the African continent.
