- The purpose of the Credit Research Analyst is to perform quantitative research analysis on credit with the view to formulating strategies that clients can make informed decisions on investments, while ensuring that the organisation is not exposed to reputational risk. The Credit Research Analyst is recognised as an expert at analysing issuers across sectors (banks, corporates, SOEs and securitisation) The Credit Research Analyst is responsible for covering companies within specific sectors or industries. In addition to performing company and industry analysis, credit analysts work with internal contacts (trading, sales, investment banking, etc.) and external clients (money managers, pension funds, hedge funds, etc.) on a regular basis in order to better evaluate the credit markets.**experience and qualifications**:

- Post graduate degree or diploma or honours in Mathematics or Actuarial Science or Statistics
- Masters in mathematics or Actuarial Science or Statistics is preferred/advantageous Experience:

- Minimum of 2-4 years experience in a similar environment, of which 2 years ideally at specialist level

**responsibilities**:

- As a credit quants research analyst you will:

- Query, clean and filter data for research projects
- Analyse large and complex data sets
- Identify trends and patterns in the data
- Build data models
- Analyse information and reports to identify trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies for decision making purposes this includes the analysis company financials
- Develop and produce investment insights/ ideas by relying on both structured and unstructured data to enable a thematic and systemic view of the relevant credit and market indicators.
- Compile and present research reports to clients and internal stakeholders ensuring that there is adherence to the prescribed guidelines in preparing and submitting research reports to editors.
- Build and maintain financial models and industry databases
- Gather, synthesize and interpret data from publications and other sources for use and comparative analysis
- Share/Distribute research reports to clients via the client engagement teams
- Compile relevant monthly, annual, and ad hoc maintenance reports.
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders, displaying excellent abilities to initiate dialogue, listen, advise, influence and negotiate to achieve win-win outcomes.
- Initiate meetings with key stakeholders to track progress, manage expectations and ensure stakeholders’ requirements are delivered
- Engage in cross-functional relationships to obtain and to provide work support
- Contribute to sustaining a competitive edge through external networking, benchmarking and representation on related forums
