**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**STUDENT ADVISOR**

The college is seeking qualified individuals who can provide comprehensive academic and personal guidance to students in their respective fields. Student Advisors will work closely with students to ensure that they have the necessary resources and support to excel in their studies and achieve their academic goals.

**ACADEMIC SUPPORT**
- Academic Guidance - Assisting students in understanding academic policies, course requirements and degree planning.
- Career Counseling - Helping students explore career options, identify their interests and skills, and develop a career plan.
- Emotional Support - Providing empathetic listening, encouragement and referral to mental health resources as needed.
- Campus resources - Connecting studies with other campus resources such as tutoring services and student organization.
- Personal Development - supporting students in developing life skills such as communication and problem solving and advocacy.
- Crises Intervention - Identifying and providing support for students in crisis situations including academic, personal or mental health challenges.

**COMPETENCIES REQUIRED**
- Team and goal oriented.
- Willingness to learn and innovative way of thinking.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Organization and time management
- Possession of a laptop.

**EXPERIENCE**
- Knowledge of relevant fields and other related fields.
- Proficiency in the facilitation of learning, using learning management systems, such as Moodle.
- Tutoring experience will be advantageous.
- Computer literacy skills required.

**QUALIFICATION**
- Diploma/Degree qualification.

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- The package includes accommodation and transportation from Mondays to Thursdays.
- Student Advisors will provide day and evening support.
- No laundry services provided. House rules apply.
