Manager: Infrastructure

The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and retirement of the systems and personnel that are at the core of an organization.

This position will effectively manage a local team, high-pressure decisions, interact with IT groups, and communicate with senior management. The position will also manage a technical staff that performs a wide range of general and specialized critical infrastructure duties including preventative maintenance, retrofits, software and hardware upgrades, and emergency repairs.

The role ensures technical and operational evaluations of equipment supporting a highly available data center environment. Additionally, this position develops the overall facility annual budget and provides cost analysis for retrofits and/or upgrades consistent with annual operational and capital expenditures.

Role and Responsibilities
- Design and execute short plus long term strategic plans to assure infrastructure capacity attains current and future needs.
- Develop, execute and oversee procedures, policies and related training plans for project management and infrastructure administration.
- Manage and establish priorities for maintenance, design, development and analysis of entire infrastructure systems inclusive of LANs, WANs, internet, security and wireless implementations.
- Conduct research and recommend changes in services, products, protocols and standards to support development efforts and infrastructure procurement.
- Supervise data center group and lead, direct and utilize knowledge on best practices in area related to infrastructure.
- Define and manage IT Disaster Recovery Strategy for organization.
- Define software and hardware standards in collaboration with stakeholders and owners.
- Test server performance plus provide network presentation statistics.
- Report and prepare strategies to maintain server infrastructure.
- Ensure apt security levels on network, infrastructure and servers are maintained.
- Oversee operational costs, conduct near along with long-term financial estimates for expanded functionality and user base.
- Direct and administer conditional network analysts plus technicians to provide leadership and direction.
- Ensure to practice IT asset management inclusive of component inventory maintenance and associated documentation.
- Negotiate with outsourcers, vendors and contractors for infrastructure-specific products and services secure.
- Perform feasibility studies for different upgrade projects, conversions and improvements
- Determining business needs and evaluating existing network infrastructure and systems
- Ensure that standards and procedures are in place, including establishing, writing, and distributing governance and enforcing the governance that’s already in place

Technical Skills & Experience Required
- Solid experience of managing a team within a multi-site IT Infrastructure environment.
- Proficient with operating systems and network security protocols and have knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Office 365, Exchange, and Active Directory.
- Proficient with object or component-oriented software, such as Borland Paradox as well as web development software, such as Adobe Flex or Apache Tomcat.
- Intricate knowledge of operating systems like Microsoft Windows and Linux and is able to develop and deliver projects using leading edge technologies
- Advanced Switching and Routing experience 5y+
- Solid foundational knowledge of IPv4 TCP/IP stack and OSI layers
- Enterprise and Data Center switching technologies (Cisco and Dell)
- Dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
- Knowledge of Internet routing technologies (CIDR, BGP)
- Modern firewall technologies
- North/South and Perimeter firewalls (FortiGate, NSX-T, Cisco ASA)
- East/West hypervisor-based firewalls (NSX-T)
- Unified Threat Management (UTM)
- VPN technologies (OpenVPN, SSL VPN)
- Network Management System (NMS) experience (Cacti, FrameFlow, Elastic ELK Stack)
- Advanced VMWare experience 5y+
- Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of VMware ESX and related technologies

- At least 5 years of IT experience including managing teams responsible for architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.
