This exciting and challenging opportunity within the dynamic environment of a renowned audit and accounting firm involves managing a team of accountants, reviewing their work and liasing with clients.

The position is at middle management level, reports to the Partner/Director and requires an applicant of absolute integrity with excellent communication and leadership skills, who will ensure the professional stature of the firm.

**The successful applicant will be responsible for the following key result areas**:

- Performing and reviewing of independent reviews of small and medium sized private companies and groups.
- Reviewing bookkeeping to trial balance and monthly reconciliations.
- Submission and completion of statutary returns (VAT, PAYE, DWT and IWT).
- Submission of tax returns via E-Filing (IT14 and IT14SD).
- Calculation and submission of Provincial tax returns.
- PAYE reconciliations via Easy File and E-Filing.
- Preparation of salary schedules and payslips.
- Preparation and review of financial statements according to IFRS for SME’s - Companies/Closed Corporations/Trusts/Individuals.
- Responsible for measuring and implementing financial controls to minimize business risk.
- Calculation of tax liability for Companies/Closed Corporations/Trusts/Individuals.
- Management statements and accounts.
- Various reconciliations (Debtors and Creditors).
- Stock/Inventory reconciliations.
- SARS related queries.
- Registration of VAT/PAYE and Income Tax for clients.
- Payments on behalf of clients.
- Preparation of fees, budgets, and quotations.
- Achieve team and individual budgets and business performance objectives.
- Formulating professional development and educational plans for junior staff members.
- Bi-annual merit evaluations for Trainees.

**Inherent job requirements**:

- Strong technical knowledge and skills.
- Good communication and interactive skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Effective team management skills and functioning within a team.
- Effective time management skills.
- A SAIPA accredited degree.
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
- South African citizenship.
- A valid South African driver’s licence as travelling duties are involved.
- Post articles work experience in a similar role will be beneficial.
