**Overall Purpose of the Position**:
The Clinical Trial Recruiter (Nurse) will be responsible for supporting the recruitment of participants for various clinical trials conducted across TASK’s Cape Town sites. This role involves establishing new relationships, identifying recruitment opportunities, and executing recruitment strategies in collaboration with clinical teams. The recruiter will play a key role in driving participant engagement, supporting recruitment campaigns, and ensuring successful participant enrollment

**Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Responsibilities include (not limited to)**:
**Recruitment Strategy and Planning**:

- Supporting the management of clinical recruitment efforts and assisting in developing and executing recruitment plans and strategies for quality referrals on ongoing and new clinical trials
- Collaborating with the Principal Investigator’s, TASK protocol team, and clinical teams to draft recruitment plans and proposals for new studies
- Planning, coordinating, implementing and participating in recruitment campaigns according to clinical trial protocol requirements
- Re-assessing and re-strategizing plans when targets are not being met

**Participant Recruitment**:

- Undertaking all activities related to participant recruitment in line with TASK policies, ethical and regulatory guidelines and clinical trial protocols
- Identifying and sourcing opportunities to recruit consenting and qualifying volunteers for all studies, ensuring recruitment is diverse and aligned with study requirements
- Conducting and coordinating various participant recruitment activities, pre-identification and follow-ups with potential participants
- Serving as the point of contact for participant referrals from websites and other sources

**Relationship Building and Stakeholder Management**:

- Engaging and building relationships with stakeholders in public and private health environments, exploring new participant recruitment opportunities
- Following up and engaging with volunteers and potential participants to ensure active participation and smooth recruitment processes
- Responding to inquiries and troubleshooting issues that may arise during the recruitment process

**Administrative and Reporting Duties**:

- Providing regular status reports and feedback regarding recruitment efforts and metrics as required
- Supporting metric assimilation and presentation
- Assisting in building and maintaining a quality volunteer database and managing records of participant recruitment, with an emphasis on diversification and inclusion
- Performing administrative tasks to support the efficient execution of key recruitment activities

**Staff Support and Training**:

- Supporting sites in coordinating participant transport and assisting with other logistics as required
- Assisting with staff training in recruitment processes in collaboration with the recruitment management team
- Providing guidance and support to staff in the absence of the clinical recruitment management team
- Collaborating and supporting Community Engagement teams where indicated

**Consent and Screening**:

- Obtaining consent from potential trial participants and performing telephonic and other screenings in accordance with protocol requirements and South African Good Clinical Practice (SA GCP).

**Travel and Site Visits**:

- Travelling and attending events across Cape Town as required to meet recruitment goals and ensuring the successful implementation of recruitment campaigns

**Ideal Requirements**
- Qualified Registered/Professional Nurse
- Valid Nursing Council Certificate (SANC)
- Valid ICH GCP certificate
- At least three years of nursing experience in different therapeutic areas or related clinical trial/community health care experience may be beneficial
- MS Office Suite (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook) and other relevant software as required
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours

- Proficiency in at least two official languages of the Western Cape
