**Purpose of the Role & Reporting Line**

The incumbent assist the activities manager as a crucial member of the team to provide exceptional fun-filled and adventurous experiences for our guests

**Key Performance Areas**

**Responsibilities**:
**1. **General Responsibilities**
- Be at the Tree house front desk to welcome & assist walk-ins and guest enquiries.
- Assist the Activities Manager to Organise & Manage outdoor expeditions for Boschendal guests and outdoor enthusiasts. These expeditions come in a variety of forms.
- To help create fun-filled, programmes of age-appropriate activities for adults & children
- Ensuring that guests & children are always kept safe by following Boschendal policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, risk assessment and other health & safety issues.
- Deal calmly with challenging issues, ensuring parents and carers are suitably informed with accurate feedback (both positive as well as negative) and act as manager in the manager’s absence.
- Timeous management of complaints & resolve there of
- Planning of special events & programmes throughout the year.

**2. **Financial**
- Assist the Activities Manager to ensure Timeous execution of stocktakes.
- Providing feedback Activities Manager on any cash up queries

**3. **Operational**
- Ensuring smooth operations in all aspects of activities daily and in the absence of the Activities Manager.
- Managing all needs from maintenance, wood workshop, landscaping and garden team.
- Being responsible for keeping the spaces sanitized, clean & tidy. Ensure the upkeep of the playground & the gardens.

**4. **Leadership & Management**
- To help develop and coordinate the activities according to the daily bookings. Flexibility is important and to be able to think on one’s feet.
- Take responsibility for the daily registration processes and communicate in a caring and polite manner with parents, children and co-workers, therefore ensuring that everyone is clear about expectations, the manner in which the farm operates, and the content of each daily programme.

**5. **Other**
- ERS timesheet keeping.
- Analysing staff training needs & acting on; ensuring the team & the programmes keep up with the times.
- Reporting on all HR related issues; disciplinaries; execution of warnings & disciplinaries
- Live Boschendal’s values & behaviours.

The incumbent will have a passion for conservation, community, adventurous and have a love and understanding of the natural and farming environment. The incumbent will be physically fit and would need to have a keen passion for the outdoors

**Technical Competencies (Essential / Preferred)**
- Working knowledge of various computer software programmes (MS office, Management POS systems) (E)
- Stock control management experience (E)

**Behavioural competencies**
- Have excellent interpersonal & communication skills in English. A foreign language would be advantageous.

**Experience Requirement**

**Working experience (Essential / Preferred)**

**Qualification**

- Grade 12 (E)

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Franschoek, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
