The team is looking for a O&M Technical Manager in their Johannesburg offices.

All Technicians employed within Operation and Maintenance department will report to the Operation and Maintenance Technical Manager. Therefore, the Technical Manager is expected to play the key role in allocating Technical resources across the Operation and Maintenance Department. This includes On Grid, Off Grid and Solar Thermal sites under SLA. He/she/they will ensure all employees are working in a safe environment. He/she/they will ensure all allocated technicians are suitable for the tasks allocated to them.

The Operation and Maintenance Technical Manager must continually keep up to date with world-wide technological developments ensuring the company remains a leader in the Industry.

Minimum Requirements:

- Electrical Trade Test Certificate (3 phase)
- Wireman’s License
- Driver’s License & Passport
- In-depth knowledge of both PV grid-tied, storage and generator systems
- Knowledge of hot water systems (heat pumps, vacuum tube solar collectors, hot water reticulation, etc)
- Good management of technical people
- Good problem solving skills
- Good communication(both written and verbal) skills to interact with client, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders
- Value and maintain teamwork and moral
- The ability to work across multiple projects in parallel and manage various sites
- Excellent organizational, time management, leadership and decision making skills
- Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards and best practices
- The ability to work within budgets and to deadlines
- Attention to detail

Your responsibilities will include:

- Responsible for all Solar PV (On & Off Grid), Solar Thermal O&M Technician works.
- Plan and manage all O&M Technician outputs.
- Manage all Technicians movements & project allocations alongside Asset Manager and Senior Technical Manager.
- Maintain O&M Technical Department Working Procedures.
- Assist in development of new O&M Department Technical Working Procedures.
- Assist Technicians in report writing through 3 tier sanity checking process.
- Submitting reports timeously.
- Responsible for all existing sites daily monitoring.
- Responsible for all existing site daily operations.
- Ensure all working environments are safe for Technicians to conduct their work optimally.
- Manage and maintain O&M department budgets.
- Maintain Client staff training.
- Ensure O&M Technicians are sufficiently trained for tasks to be carried out in the field.
- Ensure all works done by O&M department comply with International Standards.
- Maintain Client relations regarding existing sites under O&M.
