**PURPOSE OF POSITION**

The Data & Decision Science Specialist will be responsible for utilising their analytical and technical development skills and experience to collect, clean, analyse, interpret large and/or unstructured data sets and present that in a data solution protocol or visualisation.

The Data & Decision Science DDS) Specialist will operate on a Data continuum from Data Analysis to building all the in-house data structures required to enable DDS’ capability to produce Data and Information assets internally and to DDS’ client base.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Customer information delivery a basic function:

- **Manual updates**

Ensure daily manual meter, tank readings and fuel deliveries are uploaded into dataFLEX360 or any other systems in use.
- **Data validation**

Ensure that all data exceptions are cleared within agreed KPI times set.

Ensure that customer reconciliations are validated as accurate or flagged under investigation within agreed KPI times set.

Ensure that validation errors as escalated and managed correctly.
- **Fleet master data management**

Ensure customer fleet information captured into dataFLEX360 or any other systems in use meet agreed KPI levels set.

Drive operations and customer to provide accurate and timeous fleet data to achieve the above goal.
- **Billing**

Prepare and deliver billing files for customers as per agreed KPI schedules and times set

Ensure all billing discrepancies are resolved before billing files sent.
- **Reporting**

Ensure all daily consolidated reports are sent to the customer before agreed KPI times set.

Ensure accuracy and quality of reports sent to the customer meet agreed KPI levels set.

Draft and deliver monthly executive summary reports within agreed KPI times set, as needed.
- **General**

Ensure daily management boards are updated for daily GEMBA review and hold accountability for actions relating to allocated customers.

Provide advanced analytical analysis of customer information to determine trends and highlight possible areas of improvement or identify areas of concern that should be discussed with the customer.

Engage Mining Operations on the above and assist with determining the best course of action for remedying the identified issues.

Ensure accountability for all customer’s information services delivery within allocated customers.

Provide Mining customer VOC feedback into the Mining Management team to allow for improvement in customer service delivery.

Assist the Mining Information Services team by covering other Mining IS Lead Analyst responsibilities as and when required.

Specialist Function:
Continuous improvement in how we deliver BAU Data, reports and other Information outputs that are published and/or distributed to our client base

Automate repeat work that happens in the team, whilst ensuring consistency in terms of Data integrity and publication

Investigate new automated mechanisms to monitor data daily diagnostics in terms of data quality, exceptions, completion and accuracy and alter diagnostic scripting accordingly

Have internal Gilbarco interactions when required to keep abreast of our changing and evolving data assets and landscape so that DDS data management & solutions can be aligned

Identify key challenges or business issues within DDS and the greater Gilbarco to pave the way for innovative technical and data solutions

Use BI developer standards to ensure all development results in efficient processing

Ensure all developed work is documented and stored on Vontier SharePoint: detailing proposed solutions which are tracked and comprehensively documented and updated to Vontier SharePoint so that all successes and failures can be used as reference material for any new development work

Conduct multidimensional analysis to fully understand the client business issue(s) and then test best-fit solutions and dispense insight driven DDS products

Build robust data structures and products that are industry-agnostic

Adhere to good governance, risk and compliance within the DDS management function and within the broader Gilbarco AFS governance standards

Ensure Quality Assurance processes and checks are in place for all work outputs

Manage, build and/or improve on the DDS reporting, analytics and data exploration capabilities.

**DELAGATION OF AUTHORITY**

As per Board-approved DOA and as necessary for functions outside the DOA.

As delegated by the Managing Director, when necessary.

Reports to the DDS Digital Factory Senior Manager.

Is part of the DDS team and will be required to interact successfully at all levels internally.
