To provide specialist support and advise in the execution of DebiCheck transactions as per predefined objectives. The department supports all areas settling ZAR transactions. The department is continually looking for ways to implement efficiencies, reduce risk to the company and enhance the experience of our clients.
**Job Description**:
Accountability: Operational (50%)
- Interface with internal and external clients regarding instructions and transactions by being a point of contact in the payments function.
- Prepare MI for internal stakeholders and distribute to line manager.
- Ensure all batch exceptions are promptly followed up and resolved within agreed Service level agreement (SLA).
- Facilitate resolution of aged breaks.
- Ensure accurate and timely resolution of DebiCheck Batch settlement.
- Provide input to process engineers, process custodians and process owners when required on the design and implementation of new process in the payment’s environment.
- Monitor and optimize process hand offs between Payments and its stakeholders including other departments within Payment’s operations.
- Ensure access to systems is continuous and without disruption by monitoring and marinating access to all systems through SLA agreement with Group IT.
- Manage ad-hoc audit processes and act as key contact for risk management in the Payments department. Take responsibility to resolve any risk, governance for compliance issues.
- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders and clients.
Accountability: Business Change Initiatives (10%)
- Drive and implement agreed projects, working with the relevant change teams, to optimize processes and improve client service delivery.
- Encourage and support implementation of ad-hoc improvements within direct teams and processes to improve productivity, quality and client service.
Accountability - Clint Service and Problem Resolution (20%)
- Serves internal departments and external clients by:
- Creating a favourable impression as the first point of contact by living the ABSA values.
- Obtaining relevant information from all parties involved (i.e., the client, the relationship executive, credit departments etc.) in order to completely understand the client needs.
- Finalize and conclude client queries within 48 hours as well as keep the client information about the status pertaining to the enquiry.
- Update the client continuously with information on the progress made.
- Improve client service by complying with the ABSA service standards and “Treat Customers Fairly”
- Timeous and effective handling of customer complaints.
. Resolves routine problems according to mandate by:
- Gathering and sharing information
- Tracking and providing feedback on investigations within 24 hours.
- Identify and rectify errors, problems and queries within 24 hours.
- Referring problems where necessary and suggesting solutions.
Accountability - Team Player (10%)
- Buys into team objectives by relating and interacting with team members.
- Add value to the team by: Contributing ideas and opinions, sharing formation with another team Members.
- Proactively assist other team when workload creates pressure.
- Cooperates within a team by supporting tam decisions and doing his/her share of the work.
Accountability - Risk Highlights and process procedure (10%)
- Maintain all elements of the CIB Risk management model by:
- Highlighting process and procedural inefficiencies to the manager
- Monitor compliance to Service Level Agreement and report status and deviations to the manager
Education and Experience Required
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Certificate /Diploma in Banking
- 3 Years general Banking experience
Education
Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC): Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required)
