This is a full time position. The incumbent will report directly to the Executive Director. As the Head of the Prevention Services, the role’s scope is to supervise and provide guidance to the personnel conducting preventative services. The supervisory functions further encompass Programme Development, Research and collaborating in acquiring resources to fund the Programme, as well as Personnel Development and Administration.

**Supervision & Development of Personnel**

Supervision of personnel; education, training and induction of new personnel

Ongoing skills development programme through a continuous assessment method.

Recruitment & training of volunteers

Recruitment of new personnel in conjunction with the Executive Director and Administrative Manager

Keeping abreast of latest substance abuse trends

**Administrative functions**

Recording of activities & statistics in accordance with the organisation's requirements

Time management

Monitoring overtime & leave

Co-ordinating the most effective use of motor vehicles, implementing SANCA vehicle policy

Monitoring the library & stock take

Issuing of press releases in accordance with SANCA policies & with the approval of the Executive Director

Monthly, quarterly & annual statistics; Annual Evaluation; Annual Report; Business Plan

**Work Processes**

Improve, develop, implement and monitor prevention programmes, projects & services

Train professionals, community leaders and organisational representatives, volunteers, etc.

Implement & oversee various projects

Marketing/Conferences and Workshops

Marketing of services

Attend meetings, conferences and workshops

Presentations at meetings, conferences and workshops

**Resources**

Formulating funding proposals and liaising with funding agencies

Develop resource material, pamphlets, manuals etc.

**Research**:
Initiate &/ participate in authorised research projects

**Minimum Requirements**

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work

Experience in a similar role

Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions

Experience in substance abuse field

Fluency in spoken & written English is essential

Fluency in IsiZulu

Computer literate

Valid Code B Driver's License without endorsements

SAPS Clearance
