Quality Controller

WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES?
Identify quality problems, evaluate and realise measures to improve quality independently and autonomously according to specifications and considering cost and volume implications for production.
Lead quality projects and quality related project teams as required from all departments and levels (including management).
Decide on execution and is accountable for adequate introduction of above-mentioned quality issues.
Direct and follow up on introduction of quality projects and systems and ensure methods to maintain achieved standards.
Execution of training of process partners’ personnel and establishment of supplier/process partners’ processes to the required quality and technical levels together with the relevant process partner’s managers.
Keep process partners informed to the latest level concerning potential hazards within his/her area.
Initiate, plan, direct and control special quality projects to solve complex cross-functional quality problems.
Lead VDC quality related projects and process partners as required from all VDC departments handling thevehicles: this includes:
Investigation to Complex and high recurring quality problems picked up in the Customers’ VPC, VDC’s, Carrier’s yards, Port and dealers.
Develop and implement solutions to the problems raised by customers. Is also responsible to give awareness and ask for corrective actions on matters raised by the VDC quality department. Enforce companyquality according to set AG standards.
Prepare and initiate times schedules on quality improving issues and projects.
Develop on own initiative short/long term quality project proposals and pursues future quality and technical requirements.
Decides and is accountable for target setting
Run projects to reduce Scrap costs.
investigate quality problems and develops proposals regarding technical solutions or involving of process partners’ staff to improve quality.
Ensure quality and technical support to internal/external departments. - Is on a day-to-day basis interactive in the VDC Yard and with companyquality departments to support primary targets, i.e. quality, volume and delivery of defect free units.
Support ISO 9000 project progress as a quality team member by compiling assigned company procedures and initiates implementation and controls progress.
Support the Quality Specialist in JMS Audits and should be involved with the Corrective Actions processes from findings during these Audits.
Establish Safety Health Environment related hazards arising out of processes within his / her relevant areas, by means of: - co-operation with SHE-Champion and Quality Specialist during aspects/impacts identification process. - area walkthrough.
Log tickets and follow up on repair and maintenance work needed to ensure quality standards can be followed.
Assist with purchasing process when needed.
WHICH QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE DO WE NEED FOR THE ROLE?
Matric withdealer system experience.
Good knowledge of SAP including SAP SRM.
Detailed knowledge of ISO9001 quality standards.
Experience in Steering all quality topics to ensure KPI’s are achieved.
**ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS**:
Ability to influenceAssociates, contractors and Service Providers to follow approved processes and procedures and to operate in line with the 5Basic Principles.
Understanding of quality methods and techniques to be able to steer the quality performance of Service Providers.
Analytical ability to find root cause of defects and to implement appropriate corrective actions. - Ability to define and document procedures to ensure consistency of results.
Strong administrative ability to keep accurate records, to document and update procedures, to track and follow up on open points.
Thorough knowledge of the motor industry norms and standards, particularly in an Aftersales environment.
Experience in planning, evaluation and realisation of projects.
Problem solving.
Decision making.
Competence and confidence to influence all levels of associates from cleaners to senior management.
Fluent verbal/written in English, knowledge of German is necessary.
**ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS REQUIREMENTS**:
Substantial knowledge of the motor and automotive industry.
Substantial knowledge in state-of-the-art quality techniques and tools.
Substantial knowledge of engineering means, methods & process, communication, teamwork, presentation and negotiation skills.
Afrikaans and Tswana could be of advantage.
