We are looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Liability team, based in Johannesburg.

**Your Team**

At Allianz Commercial we combine specialist expertise and global reach with high levels of AA rated underwriting capacity to industry specific exposures. This allows us to establish a reputation as leaders of some of the largest and most complex Liability risks in the market.

**The Impact You Will Have**

Based in Johannesburg and reporting to the Regional Head of Liability, you will be responsible for underwriting profitable new and renewal business to meet Liability targets.

**Some of your specific responsibilities could include**:
- Underwrite in line with the Liability governance framework- Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception- Manage referrals from underwriters and re-underwrite complex business as appropriate- Contribute to the development and execution of the regional Underwriting strategy for Liability- Create and maintain positive relationships with key producers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (eg. risk managers)

**What You’ll Bring to the Role**- Experience underwriting profitable business in the Liability segment of large corporate international insurance- Completion of RE5 exam- Recognised relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level and are established within the market- Specialised understanding of regional / local Liability insurance markets and multi-national programmes- Capable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective- Good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework- Able to design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts- A team-player, you work in open collaboration with others.- Fluent English Language skills, French language skills would be advantageous
