Purpose of the Position
The Channel Marketing Analyst will provide analytical expertise and insights to inform decision-making across multiple strategic areas. This role involves working closely with the Integrated Commercial Strategy team, as well as other cross-functional teams to optimize category performance, enhance shopper and consumer understanding, and contribute to the development and execution of channel strategies. The analyst will ensure data-driven decisions and clear ROI tracking to meet commercial objectives.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Category, Portfolio & Brand Analysis
- Provide detailed campaign performance analysis and reporting to support category, portfolio, and brand strategies.
- Leverage insights to inform brand and channel prioritization across regions.
- Track ROI and measure the impact of campaigns and programs, ensuring alignment with objectives and budget allocations.
- Sales Intelligence Reporting including exception reporting
- Monitoring and reporting on input KPI's with the focus per channel
- Adhoc exception requests
- Creation of dashboards with key insights on performance
Shopper & On-Premise Consumer Insights
- Analyse research data and multiple sources to create strategic insights on shopper and consumer behaviour.
- Assist in creating shopper/consumer profiles that identify value drivers at points of purchase and consumption.
- Ensure all commercial plans are informed by data-driven shopper and consumer insights.
Route to Market (RTM), Channel & Customer Analysis
- Conduct analysis of RTM data to support execution of channel strategy choices.
- Collaborate with channel teams to optimize customer strategies and execution.
- Assist in ensuring that Trade Marketing plans leverage sales organization capacity and customer strategies effectively.
Channel Strategy Development
- Support ICP in developing channel strategies with clear objectives.
- Translate category, consumer, and customer insights into actionable TM strategies.
- Provide insights on resource allocation to align with channel priorities.
Annual Planning & Reporting
- Assist in creating the annual Trade Marketing plans based on data-driven insights.
- Monitor and track KPIs to ensure successful execution of plans.
- Analyse and report on the performance of TM plans, driving continuous improvement in the market.
Excellence in Execution
- Assist in ensuring that execution aligns with strategy, campaign objectives, and budget.
- Conduct regular evaluations of execution performance and offer recommendations for improvement.
Commercial Acumen & Financial Insight
- Develop insights on channel profitability and incorporate them into TM plans.
- Drive continuous improvement of ROI for Trade Marketing activities through data analysis.
Channel, Outlet & Customer Segmentation
- Ensure data integration with CRM and sales force automation tools to enable accurate live data reporting.
- Use segmentation analysis to inform execution and investment decisions by channel and outlet
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Commerce, Marketing or Business Administration
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- 3 to 5 Years’ experience in a similar analytics role.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with various teams (sales, marketing, finance).
- Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of category, shopper, and channel dynamics.
- Proven ability to drive ROI and improve execution through data-driven decisions
- Innovative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement
