**Minimum Requirements**:

- **Journalistic Expertise**:

- A minimum of 3-5 years of professional journalism experience, ideally with exposure to business, finance, or technology sectors.
- Proven track record of producing high-quality written content under tight deadlines.
- **Crypto & Tech Savvy**:

- Demonstrable knowledge of the crypto landscape, including blockchain technology, digital assets, and regulatory issues.
- Ability to translate technical and financial jargon into clear, compelling narratives and easy to understand language
- **Research & Analytical Skills**:

- Good research skills with an ability to identify emerging trends and develop original story angles.
- Excellent analytical abilities to interpret complex data and market developments.
- **Communication & Collaboration**:

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- **Digital Proficiency**:

- Familiarity with digital publishing tools, especially newsletter systems
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new digital trends and technologies.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Newsletter Leadership**:

- Develop, write, and manage a regular crypto-focused newsletter, ensuring engaging and accurate content that resonates with our diverse audience.
- Curate news, trends, and insights from the crypto world to provide a comprehensive update of each issue.
- **Feature & Analysis Writing**:

- Research and produce well-crafted feature articles, opinion pieces, and analytical reports on topics ranging from market trends to regulatory changes and technological innovations in the crypto space.
- Break down complex crypto concepts into accessible narratives for both crypto enthusiasts and newcomers.
- **Reporting & Aggregation**:

- Monitor industry news for summaries, and analyse emerging stories within the crypto ecosystem
- Develop relationships with industry experts, thought leaders, and key stakeholders to source exclusive insights.
- Prepared to host webinars and in-person events on topics related to crypto coverage.
- **Collaboration & Strategy**:

- Work closely with the Business Editor and the broader business team to align crypto coverage with Daily Maverick’s strategic priorities.
- Participate in editorial meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions to shape ongoing coverage and future projects.
- **Digital Engagement**:

- Leverage digital platforms to promote your work and engage with our audience.
- Stay updated with digital trends and tools to continually refine content strategy and reader engagement.
