Our client currently has an opportunity for a Mechanical Draughtsman to prepare and check technical drawings and plans used by engineers in the execution of projects in the mines including piping and pipe systems, chilled water systems, ventilation, construction, etc.

The successful incumbent will have a N4/N5 Draughting qualification or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience.

**Position details**:
Maintain drawing standards according to best practice, company standards and/or client requirements, including:
1. Drawing responsibilities:
Produce drawings (models; general arrangements; sections and details) in AutoCAD or a similar software.
Drawings from concept level to construction level of detail Technical checking
Design pipe routing and equipment layout, including accommodations for practical considerations
Produce and understand process flow and piping and instrumentation (P&I) diagrams
Draw civils and structural works for interface checks

2. Quality and accountability
Effective communication with both engineering and fellow drafting staff
Communications protocols
Quality checks on drawings
Meeting of client (internal and external) deadlines
Work on multiple projects at once

**Job Qualification & Experience**:
N4/N5 Draughting qualification or equivalent.
Experience in TEKLA Structures would be an added advantage

At least 5 years draughting experience, including:
Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD (both 2D and 3D modelling)
Knowledge of drawing office procedures
Basic engineering calculations
Engineering standards
Practical and working experience on construction projects
There will be a requirement for ad hoc site visits
