WATER AND SANITATION Principal Technician
**Requirements**:

- National Diploma (Civil Engineering)
- Must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineering

Technician
- 5-8 years’ relevant experience in water sector
- Computer literacy: MS Office
- Driver’s Licence, to be able to travel within the boundaries of the

City and beyond
- Physically fit and able bodied

Key Performance Areas
- Implement Zone management, treated effluent and spring water

programmes.
- Maintain and Monitor District Metered Areas and Pressure

Management Zones.
- Ensure visibility, monitor and report on the performance of zones.
- Develop and Implement business plans and processes.
- Plan and Implement capital and operational projects associated

with water use efficiency.
- Ensure approved budget expenditure in line with MFMA and City

of Cape Town instructions.
- Compile specifications and manage tender processes compliant

with statutory requirements.
- Assume the role of a contract manager, project manager or

contract administrator in line with CCT instructions.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders.
