A D365 solution architect leads successful implementations and focuses on how solutions address the broader business and technical needs of organizations. D365 solution architect is a key member of the overall project team.

A D365 solution architect should have functional and technical knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics

365 apps, related Microsoft cloud solutions, and other third-party technologies. A key task of the D365 solution architect is solution envisioning. Essentially, this task involves looking at the problem and identifying which parts can take advantage of one of the Dynamics 365 apps and which parts need to be built by using Microsoft Power Platform or Microsoft Azure. Traditionally, a development-focused architect would start with custom development and low-level

Power Platform and then use Microsoft Azure to address any gaps.

A D365 solution architect applies knowledge and experience throughout an engagement and will also perform proactive and preventative work to increase the value of the customer's investment and promote organizational health. This role requires the ability to identify opportunities to solve business problems. The solution architect is often thought of as a trusted advisor who consults with organizations and implementation team members to refine business needs into a well-defined and cost-effective solution.

D365 solution architects should be able to facilitate design decisions across development, configuration, integration, infrastructure, security, availability, storage, and change management. This role balances a project's business needs while meeting functional and non-functional requirements. In addition to their technical knowledge, D365 solution architects need to have the ability to engage with business users and decision makers at all levels.

The D365 solution architect provides critical guidance and support from pre-sales through the remainder of the project lifecycle. The exact activities vary from project to project and organization to organization.

While having solution architects be in-depth experts on all components, it is more common that they are more specialised on one or two components and rely on other team members to help fill in where deep knowledge is needed. A good solution architect is skilled at collaborating within their team, organization, and across organizations as needed

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Some of the main tasks you will be involved in include:

- Provide strategic guidelines and insights into project by understanding solutions from the following aspects: o Security o Empowering end users o Trust and privacy o Maintainability of the overall solution o Availability and recoverability o Performance and scalability o Efficiency and operations o Shared responsibility
- Advocate and augment the principles of Information Technology strategies and provide feedback into Enterprise Architecture domain areas and where relevant, trigger Applied Architecture initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders regarding the implementation of an Enterprise Solutions Architecture (ESA) based on enterprise business requirements and IT strategies.
- Analyse business requirements to determine viable options for solution design and ensure implementation addresses key issues, business strategic objectives and end to end solution design.
- Define and communicate high level business and solution architecture requirements to inform business cases.
- Design high-level comprehensive technical solutions that support the business value chain and align to the overall enterprise architecture.
- Ensure that the business requirements are reflected in the design and that the appropriate business and technical services are reflected in the overall architecture.
- Design and document the necessary models, mechanisms and technical requirements that will best communicate the overall solution and how it will address the business requirement.
- Drive the implementation and governance of standards for the design, implementation and functioning of various solutions across the value chain.
- Manage the overall design, implementation and functioning of solutions in line with business requirements.
- Effectively prioritize projects and solutions based on business strategic priorities and manage stakeholder expectations accordingly.
