Project Manager in The Field of Process

Position details:
Type: Contract with potential to go permanent.
Reports to: Senior Project Manager.
Primary purpose: Manage and take responsibility for specialised control system projects according to company/customer requirements and specifications.

Job description / core competencies:

- Plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.
- Maintain and improve relationships with key stakeholders.
- Attend to customer requirements within the defined scope of a project, manage customer expectations within the project, on a proactive basis.
- Generating of project programmes in MS Project software and project cash flow schedules in MS Excel - to be included into project proposal submissions.
- Manage project scope, quality, and cost to ensure completed projects are delivered at the proposal margin percent or higher.
- Manage project scope and generation of variation orders for new scope, to ensure any additional work (to agreed initial scope) is managed properly and done on approved variation order basis.
- Support the Engineering Manager in managing engineering team members to achieve project deliverables across multiple projects within the projects time constraints.
- Generate monthly project status reports with reference to commercial and finance indications.
- Understanding and utilisation of NEC and FIDIC contract parameters.
- Assume responsibility for complete project cost control, internal project monthly financial reporting and monthly project invoice forecasts.
- Co-ordinate project schedule and project schedule updates at defined intervals.
- Manage projects according to PMBOK Specifications.
- Account for project variations, initiate and control invoicing and deliveries for projects.
- Managing project equipment orders (via orders processing department) and tracking status of equipment orders to provide customer status reports as required, also inspection, receiving and controlling of project equipment as required.

Job Qualification & Experience:
Academic qualifications:
Grade 12
Tertiary Education - Project Management & Technical Qualification
Financial business qualification would be advantageous

**Experience**:
3 to 5 years technical, systems related experience
8 to 10 years Project Management experience (Work that has prepared you for this job)
MS Office experience (Word, Excel, Power-point)
MS Projects Experience
Drivers license - Code EB

Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Knowledge of product and systems for accurate project forecasting
Resource allocation and management
Milestone reporting with defined deliverables at each stage of a project.
Manage own outputs and outputs of others in the business
