A. Job Title: Van Assistant reporting to the Branch Manager
B. Job Overview
The Van Assistants responsibilities include stock delivery, cash handling and delivery administration.

C. Areas of Responsibility (Your duties will include but are not limited to)1 Delivery Checks
- Ensure the correct orders are delivered to the customer
- Ensure the customer acknowledge proof of delivery and proof of payment by signature
- Ensure that no stock is damaged during the delivery process

2 Cash Handling and Delivery Documentation
- Collect payment from the customer and issue a receipt on signature with the copy thereof going
to the customer
- Ensure you do not exceed allowed personal cash amounts of R10 000 paper cash and R100 in
coins
- Count all monies received in the presence of the customer, sign and issue customer with a cash
receipt
- Always be alert to dangers of robbing and hi-jacking
- Double check the Proof of Delivery prior to acknowledging it by signature
- Return cash to the truck upon receipt and secure in Truck Safe
- Upon your return to the base, reconcile invoices with the route sheet and report any

discrepancies.
- Collect safe key and empty safe in truck. Bank money into SBV. Attach slip to invoice and check
together with Warehouse Manager to balance.
- You are responsible for all money received and stock returned and thus will sign an
Acknowledgement of Debt for any money or stock short where after relative disciplinary action will be taken
3 Customer Service
- Conduct your duties in such a manner that portrays respect, friendliness, trust, honesty and

integrity
- Ensure your conduct, uniform and interaction always display a positive image
4 Teamwork
- Support department managers and co employees.
- Actively participate as a member of the team
- Performing any other task, not specified herein, which from time to time may be assigned by the

manager.

5 Housekeeping and Safety Standards
- Ensures that cleaning and housekeeping standards on equipment and work areas are

maintained according to laid down standards and norms
- Ensure Personal hygiene standards are maintained
- Take reasonable care for own health and safety as well as the health and safety of others

**Wear the correct PPE in accordance with the company policy and procedures ** No interference or abuse of any health, safety and environmental welfare equipment
- Keep work areas clean and free from hazards and risks
- D. Knowledge, skills, and experience required

Educational Background:

- Grade 12
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand Afrikaans & English

Knowledge/Skills:
