ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures the transport and delivery of all hospital/ hotel linen to and from clients and Lineone.
- Maintain an efficient logístical service obo the company
- Adhere to all rules, policies and safety protocols required by the company and its clients
- Follow and carry out all lawful work instruction
- Follow routes and time schedules at all times
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
- Complete logs and reports timeously
- Follow Road Traffic regulations and safety standards
- Conduct inspections of vehicle before departing to deliver goods
- Decontaminate vehicles after every dirty drop-off
- Pack and load products onto trucks according to company’s specifications
- Deliver and collect laundry to customers on assigned routes and within contractual timeframes
- Maintain ongoing communication with Managers and Supervisors
- Unload goods as per client specifications
- Obtain delivery confirmations from each customer recorded on log sheets
- Precisely finish all paper work, signatures on all required documentation
- Transport products, materials, and staff securely to areas where they are needed and as authorized
- Ensure that vehicles are kept clean at all times by washing both the inside and outside parts of the vehicle as prescribed by the company
- Carry out routine checks on vehicles and ensure they are sound
- Recognize electrical and mechanical faults and report to the employer or mechanic
- Maintain the vehicles in good working order, refuel, water, oil etc.
- Report any case of accident, injury or damage of vehicles to the manager
- Keep all records and submit to the finance department, including receipts for vehicle maintenance, fuel etc.
- Keep up a travel log to record areas travelled to, travel time, and work hours
- Dress professionally and in accordance with company’s dress code.
- Assist on work floors during logístical down times
- Manager/Supervise Van Guards when accompanying
- Be able to assist when and where the company requires that may fall out of the ambit of logístical work

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
- Valid professional driver’s license Code 10
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good driving record with no traffic violations

PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience: A company driver should have the capacity to carry out his/her obligations in an expert way. He/she should constantly dress in line with the organization’s clothing regulation, and should have the capacity to relate well with associates and clients
- He/she must be a skilled driver and must have the necessary authorization to drive and in the possession of a valid license.
- He/she should have sufficient knowledge of traffic laws and hold fast entirely to them
- Physical Strength: The work frequently includes loading and unloading of materials and equipment. So, a company driver must be strong enough to lift heavy loads frequently
- He/she must have a clean driving record
- He/she must be a safety conscious person
- He/she must be focused, confident, and observant and a team-player
