**Overall Responsibility**
- To ensure that the IT users computer equipment and IT infrastructure/network perform at required levels at all times in the area of responsibility.

**Key Roles And Responsibilities**

**Operational Tasks**:

- To provide technical support on client specific software and hardware.
- To maintain / repair equipment, including printers and scanners.
- Timely return of repaired equipment to site.
- To deploy and re-deploy existing equipment.
- To attend to the IT infrastructure according to standards set by thecompany
- To comply with policies & procedures set by thecompany
- To assist in the testing of system functions affected by changes and updates/upgrades prior to implementation.
- To update, upgrade, support and administer the Anti-Virus Software and other software as directed by Network & Operations team.
- To set-up the required IT equipment for training.
- Setting up of new equipment and upgrading existing systems
- Talking to users to establish details of faults
- Recording problems and their solutions for future reference
- To provide first level support for Local Area Network and Wide Area Network)

**Helpdesk: (When implemented)**
- Ensure all calls logged on Help Desk.
- To investigate and reply to queries from users.
- To resolve first level calls and only forward relevant first-level calls to appropriate second and third-level persons after investigation.
- To maintain the Helpdesk updated with all support actions taken and to be taken for each logged call until its successful completion.

- Good knowledge of IT infrastructure within the area.

- Post Matric qualification in IT
