Procurement Consultant

Our client currently has an opportunity for a Procurement Consultant who will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating price and delivery, procure and expedite goods and services as required and in accordance with company policies and procedures and with experience in the metals fabrication environment.
Position details:
Receive and clarify shortage lists and purchase requisitions.
Read and understand technical drawings for various company products and components.
Source and verify suppliers where required as per the company process - to be approved by relevant managers as required according to the policies at that time.
Analyse the scope of work and source accordingly.
Send out legible RFQ’s, receive and analyse pricing, quality requirements, and the capacity of the supplier.
Purchase based on demand and expedite proactively.
Maintain and update the purchase orders due and expected dates.
Maintain item pricing on the ERP systems.
Assist team members/department with additional tasks when load balancing required.
Attend daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, departmental and other meetings as required.
Manage freight collections of imported goods until goods arrive at company premises.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Matric
5-10 Years in a procurement problem solving and corrections needed from time to time by other departments, eg. Accounts department.
Any task requested that is within competence and legally and lawfully requested by line manager.
Work in a team and as an internal supplier within the overall supply chain.
Build and maintain professional relationships with the approved suppliers on our database.
Ensure company processes and legal standards are always adhered to.
Purchase based on demand and expedite proactively.
Produce and manage supplier data and backorder reports daily.
Feedback all relevant departments with respect to orders, costing issues, and changes to the delivery of their goods or services.
Relevant reports as requested by line manager
Technical purchasing experience
Basic experience in quality requirements and specifications
BBBEE - Procurement vendor vetting
MS Office (Excel, Project, Word, Power Point)
Customer Service Management process and procedures
