**Role Purpose**

The purpose of this role is to provide financial and business insights through financial reporting and control measures that enable execution of business strategies within the Investo Business.

**Requirements**:
**Experience**
- 8-10 years’ experience in finance, actuarial and/or risk management in an insurance and financial services environment.
- 3-5 years in a senior management position

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**Strategic Execution Outputs**
- Contribute to the Investo's strategy development and business planning process.
- Establish a functional Balanced Scorecard focused on the development, implementation, measuring and financial management of the Investo strategy.
- Identify, define, communicate and obtain buy-in for performance expectations through the implementation of an aligned Balanced Scorecard.
- Effectively collaborate with the end-to-end functions in Investo and the external businesses in the MMH group to deliver financial outcomes.
- Assist in preparation of all reporting for Executive engagements, board meetings and external forums.
- Actively monitor the market and competitor financials to develop management actions that assist in Investo staying competitive.
- Actively participate in the research and monitoring of the industry and competitors to identify opportunities and threats as well as areas for improvement in operations.
- Contribute to strategies and related processes to continuously grow the target market.
- Contribute to the optimisation and delivery of our value propositions in partnership with the Product Solutions and Channel Enablement teams.
- Establish and promote healthy vertical and horizontal business processes that ensure efficient and effective client delivery within set expectations and agreed performance standards in the area of accountability and the overall optimisation of the value chain.
- Contribute and ensure compliance to MMH's governance, relevant legislation and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide value added intelligence to other functional areas, segments and channels to enable innovative client centric solution and service design.

**Finance Management Outputs**
- Work collaboratively with the other business units in the Investo BU and provide outstanding, effective, and efficient business and financial insights that enable business decisions.
- Ensure that the function's strategy and operating model is adequately budgeted for through the development and implementation of a fit for purpose budget.
- Ensure effective financial management, control, and corporate governance.
- Take accountability for the management of business-related risks.
- Conduct modelling of key financial metrics eg. Sales, Expenses, Earnings and VNB
- Monitoring and tracking on the execution of financial metrics.
- Manage continuous improvement efforts by managing the identification of opportunities, cost reduction, improvements and systems enhancement.
- Drive the development and implementation of tools that allow for increased, efficient analytical capabilities that allow business leaders to understand key financial issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Partner with business leaders to assess the financial implications of business initiatives and provide input to the financial feasibility of business cases.
- Oversee the service delivery of financial analysis, forecasting and what-if scenarios that provides value-adding insight.
- Manage the implementation and adherence to financial controls and ensure that authorisation levels are adhered to and raise any exceptions with the relevant stakeholder.
- Provide business leaders with insight regarding the interpretation and explanation of financial analysis, forecasts and scenarios in order to guide business decision making.
- Oversee the delivery of accurate and timeous reporting (including KPI and operational reports), analysis and insights.
- Review consolidated reports to ensure that the information is appropriate and accurate.
- Oversee accounting practices in line with group standards and ensure that cost allocations are aligned and accurate.
- Contribute to the audit process and resolve any audit queries within deadlines.
- Build and maintain effective business relationships with finance and business stakeholders to manage service delivery in line with business expectations and requirements.

**Product Management Outputs**
- Ensure that the product pricing strategy operates on a profitable and financially viable basis through an optimised pricing and packaging model.
