**Job Purpose**
The purpose of this position is to plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the financial and accounting activities within the organisation within the framework established by the board of directors.
**Responsibilities**
**Strategic Financial Planning**
- Driving the company’s financial planning
- Determine, implement, monitor, review and evaluate budgetary and accounting strategies, policies and plans in consultation with other managers
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-term planning, the introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action
- Advise Business Units and assess their financial plans
- Provide financial information and interpret the implications for business performance and funding needs
- Coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of accounting and business systems and processes
- Direct the preparation of financial reports summarising and forecasting the organisation's financial position such as income statements, balance sheets and analyses of future earnings and income
- Assess capital finance proposals and the financial status of operational projects
- Advise on investment strategies, sources of funds and the distribution of earnings
- Deliver long range profit forecasts, budgeting and financial reporting
**Operations Management**
- Develop, monitor and review operational expenditure budgets to support growth strategies
- Ensure the implementation and provision of sound financial, Business
- Intelligence and CRM management services to the organisation
- Ensure the provision of financial and material resources to support operational strategies
- Ensure adequate vendor, service provider and other agreed stakeholder management across all channels
- Develop and implement sales objectives, strategies and budgets
- Ensure the achievement of revenue and retention targets
- Ensure the implementation of Marketing and Public Relations strategies
**Strategic cost management**
- Business optimisation including quality, and not at expense of effectiveness
- Drive continuous opex improvement and ensure optimal allocation
- Define Policies, Processes and procedures to streamline the Business Unit and optimize efficiencies
**Corporate Governance**
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions
- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities
- Ensure the credibility of the Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
- Ensure the organisation complies with statutory legislation and corporate governance frameworks
- Advise on the formulation of policies and procedures in line with relevant legislation and ensure implementation thereof
- Preparation of Board Packs to ensure accurate reporting of company information to relevant stakeholders
- Preparation of Regional Reporting Analysis for Operations monthly
**Risk Management**
- Identify potential and current risks
- Develop and implement policies to mitigate potential risk
- Report identified risks to relevant stakeholders and action plans thereof
- Deciding on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risk
- Performing risk management by analysing the organization’s liabilities and investments
**Team Management**
- Through effective inspirational leadership, facilitate the creation of accountable, full service teams who understand and strive to meet the needs of all stakeholders
- Role model behaviour and motivate team members in line with the core values
- Take full responsibility for performance of all direct reports, motivating and managing them in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives, focusing on all aspects of sound people management
- Provide support and guidance on career path planning, on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring to direct reports
