To provide strategic direction in the formulation of the compliance organisational business model and strategy; influencing and enabling organisation wide adoption.
Job Description
The opportunity exists for a senior and influential Chief Compliance Officer role in a leading pan African bank, to support the Africa Regional Operations (African Operations outside of South Africa) Executives in the management of compliance risks (regulatory, financial crime, conduct and reputation) across the jurisdiction.
The incumbent will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements, internal polices and ethical standards, reporting to the Group Chief Compliance Officer. Ideally, experience in leading the development and implementation of compliance strategies to oversee the compliance programme, and working closely to partner with senior management to promote a culture of compliance across the organization will be a distinguishing attribute.
The role supports the Country Managing Directors in the oversight of compliance risks and works closely with the Regional CEO and Country Executive teams to influence and contribute to strategically important regulatory outcomes and policy positions. As a member of the Regional Exco, together with other members of the Exco, the incumbent will provide leadership on the articulation and execution of the Regional business strategy. Similarly, as part of the Compliance Exco, the incumbent will provide strategic leadership for the entire Group Compliance Function. The incumbent will also be able to engage at the highest levels, with stakeholders covering Board members, Regulators, and C-suite executives.

Education
Postgraduate Degrees and Professional Qualifications: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required)
