**Minimum requirements for the role**:

- A National Diploma or Certification in Supply Chain Management or related is preferred for this role.
- Understanding of the manufacturing industry procuring raw materials chemicals purchases is essential for the role.
- Previous procurement experience liaising and managing suppliers when procuring product is essential.
- Must have good written and verbal skills and be able to communicate and converse in English
- Previous experience having worked on Syspro ERP or related system is preferred.
- Knowledge of shipping and INCA terms is preferred for the role.
- Must have good negotiation skills and persuasion abilities.
- Must have a good understanding of finances and working capital.
- Must have basic to intermediate excel experience.
- Must have good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Procuring chemicals and various raw materials for the plastic manufacturing industry working closely with production to quantify production requirements for the plastics converting industry ensuring that stock is available for distribution to a variety of manufacturing clients on a national basis.
- Establishing branch and company stock requirements using Syspro and requisitions received.
- Negotiating prices, payment terms and discount terms and stock availability with suppliers ensuring cost effective supply and sufficient raw materials on hand at all times.
- Working closely with the logistics team with regards to planned shipping and quotations for shipping.
- Following up with suppliers and ensuring unfulfilled purchase orders and expected delivery dates are met.
- Liaising with production planning team to ensure that procurement requirements are met.
- Preparing and maintaining strategic category plans for the key categories of the business.
- Communicating supplier and product information to senior management so effective purchasing decisions can be made.
- Procuring raw materials at the most favourable price and product consistent with quality, quantity and specification requirements.
