OneCart is looking to hire a Head of Data who will be responsible for the organisation's strategic use of data so the company can perform more efficiently, boost productivity, better engage with customers, employees and other stakeholders, improve existing revenue streams and create new ones, and develop new business opportunities.

**CORE ACTIVITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Overseeing the management and flow of data throughout its lifecycle within Onecart
- To establish corporate practices that comply with data protection and privacy regulations
- Designing, developing and maintaining data warehouses and other data repositories
- To ensure business intelligence systems meet organisational requirements
- Ensure the implementation of data analytics effectively into business processes
- To prioritise data quality initiatives that ensure accurate business outcomes
- To establish mechanisms that provide the trustworthiness of data
- Improving user access to data while ensuring data protection and privacy
- To promote data democratisation, data literacy and a DataOps culture companywide
- Removing siloed data that hinders intradepartmental business initiatives
- Implementing data privacy policies and complying with data protection regulations
- To provide timely information and insights that enable employees to improve decisions, optimize processes and plans, and work proactively.
- Create a data management system that facilitates the secure collection and processing of data.
- Establish a culture within Onecart that normalises sharing this data and making informed decisions on how to improve future business outcomes.
- Implement proper data analytics to identify and, hopefully, reduce pain points at all stages of the business process, increasing profit and trust in the eyes of stakeholders and clients
- To manage data governance strategies, practices and requirements, organising, storing and analysing strategic, operational and production data
- Determine and enforce specific security and privacy requirements for each piece of data - especially as it relates to privacy laws, industry regulations, and corporate compliance mandates
- To implement policies, procedures, structures, roles, and responsibilities that outline and enforce rules of engagement, decision rights, and accountabilities to manage the information assets of Onecart effectively.
- To establish enterprise standards - including a uniform and repeatable system development lifecycle methodology. In addition, to ensure a common set of standards for data naming, abbreviations, and acronyms within OneCart.
- To weigh and determine variables like privacy, security, compliance, ownership, and performance questions tied to cloud storage.
- To be responsible for protecting your organisation's data from interference, theft, corruption, and loss.
- Avoid data breaches by ensuring that everyone who can access information is authorised.
- Put in measures to protect stored data and data that is being transmitted internally and externally.
- To ensure Onecart is using data ethically.
- To create a solid reporting system that can reveal:How much was produced/earned

What has been the most successful, and under what circumstances
How to reproduce or improve upon desired results
What isn't working or could be working better
- Led the design of the data architecture and analytics infrastructure
- Developing a system to conduct analysis in a way that gives meaning to the data
- Automate data collection and processing and create algorithms to make the analytics process consistent and pain-free.
- Creating a good analytics system will enable business leaders to present the data in a way that informs business operations by reporting on products, customers, operations, and markets.

**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Data related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 5-10 years experience in a senior-level data management role.
- Management experience.
