With continuous company growth, we are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to join our finance team. This person's primary objective will be supporting the Financial Controller by validating the daily and monthly operational processes in the Finance team, specifically regarding reconciliation, record capturing, ledger close off, management account preparation, VAT obligations, calculation and preparation of Income Tax.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Raising accruals and provisions
- Validation of general ledger entries, ensuring records are accurate and complete before month end close
- Preparation of management accounts
- Preparation of audit packs
- Managing monthly accounting timelines
- Calculation and preparation of VAT submissions
- Validation of supplier payments and new supplier details before release to approvers
- Calculation and preparation of Income Tax submissions
- BCom(accounting/finance) degree
- Postgraduate finance qualification advantageous
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles beneficial, but not essential
