We are currently in search of a suitably qualified Financial Controller with experience in the mining, natural resources or engineering sectors.

The main purpose of the role will be to analyse every day financial activities, controls, compliance, and subsequently provide advice and guidance to Senior Management on future financial plans.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure financial statements are maintained accurately and in line with company policy and accounting practices
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
- Provide monthly and annual financial reports and interpret financial information to the Senior Leadership team and recommend further courses of action
- Maintain the financial health of the organisation through cashflow modelling
- Control and Manage the Asset base of the entity - Specifically Inventory and Fixed Assets
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget process in partnership with the General Manager
- Liaise with key stakeholders including external auditors, accountants, finance providers, suppliers and clients
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal tax filing requirements through the ongoing study of regulations and adhering to requirements;
- Advising management on required actions
- Assembling data for annual tax filings in consultation with Corporate Tax Manager
- Production of statutory accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss
- Maintaining professional currency through the ongoing study of current financial regulations and accepted practices
- Payroll compliance

**Key requirements**:

- Relevant Degree and professional qualification - CA(SA) or CIMA
- Minimum five years relevant finance experience in a senior finance role
- Experience within the mining or natural resources industry required
- Strategic thinking skills
