**Introduction**:
Provide support to Engineering Department, throughout project design and development phase by generating Drawing pack using AutoCAD Electrical, and oversee and provide reports on progress and issues that arise during the project lifecycle

**Job description**:
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

- Create accurate, detailed technical drawing pack for the solar system using computer-aided design programs to convert specifications and design information from engineers into SLD, schematics and blueprints to be reviewed by electrical engineer.
- Drawing Pack will comprise of Cable racking, Roof layout, Earthing and lighting arrangement diagram.
- Review and convert technical drafts as needed according to rough sketches, verbal or written instructions from the engineering team and clients into coherent technical drawing.
- Draw master drawings to scale, showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.
- Participate in design process by supporting engineering team when required, contributing ideas and information and creating rough sketches and diagrams of electrical wiring.
- Possibly visit installation sites and have site meetings with clients to determine electrical requirements.
- Liaise with technical staff and other personnel to resolve complications.
- Determine the order of work and the method of presentation, General Arrangements, Single Line Diagrams, and Wiring Diagrams etc.
- Explain drawings to production and/or construction teams and provide adjustments if required.

COMPETENCY PROFILE:

- Previous experience in generating drawings for DB’s, Generator Change-Overs, Solar/Grid Tie-in Panels, Single Line Drawing, control panels, minisubs, etc
- Good understanding of SABS Standards. Such as SANS 10142 and IEC Standard.
- Experience in AutoCAD Electrical and other tech products.
- Eplan knowledge will be advantageous.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide systematic technical help, both written and verbal.

**Minimum requirements**:
EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum of 2 years as an Electrical Draughtsman using AutoCAD Electrical or Eplan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- N6 Electrical Engineering
