**Introduction**:
The Master Installation Electrician (MIE) will inspect and perform quality activities associated with the installation of the Electrical scope of work in conjunction with QC Manager and Site Manager instructions and in line with the project quality control plan.

**Job description**:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Issuing of CoC’s (Certificate of Compliance) in line with company/project requirements.
- Ensure proper use of inspection equipment and tools.
- Plan, manage and perform all inspection activities objectively, using the correct processes, procedures, standards, tools and equipment.
- Familiarise himself/ herself with departmental and project procedures, plant processes, project requirements and standards.
- Ensure inspections are carried to ITPs and QCPs procedures.
- Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection results.
- Ensure condition and calibration status of measuring equipment is accurate.
- Conduct project surveillance inspections as required by management including directors.
- Perform inspections at control points specified on supplier’s quality control plans to verify product conformance to purchase orders and contract requirements.
- Attend project related meetings (internal and external) as required.
- Interface with project team members and client representatives and ensure a sound working relationship at all times.
- Study order packages and discuss them with suppliers to ensure agreement on inspection requirements.
- Place hold on defective work until it is corrected or concession granted.
- Report non-conformances and notify the Quality Control Manager of any serious or urgent quality problems and/ or deviations from specifications or contract.
- Report on outstanding or sub-standard supplier performance in relation to quality to the relevant parties and stakeholders.
- Report and record on inspection audits accurately and objectively and where required to designated authorities.
- Ensure proper reporting of inspections to defined acceptance criteria.
- Review supplier/ contractor documentation and data books for acceptability.
- Update and maintain history files and their status reports for inspection activities.
- Ensure timely and progressive compilation of quality dossier/ data books.

**Minimum requirements**:
EXPERIENCE:

- Experience in a Construction / Mining / Engineering / Petro Chemical industry will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an E&I environment
- Familiar with inspection tools and equipment and proficient in their use.
- Extensive experience in the installation and quality control of boiler plants.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Qualified Artisan (Electrician)
- N6
- Master Electrician License
