Job Purpose: The Child and Youth Development (CYD) programme is an afterschool programme for young people from Grade 1 to 12. It offers young people a series of
activities that unlock learners’ potential and supports around 5,000 young people. The CYD programme is one of the components of the Orginisations Cradle to Career model.
The programme focuses on a number of pillars to achieve its objectives:

- Empowerment: civic education and agency
- Innovation: problem solving and critical thinking
- Care for Yourself: health and fitness
- Grow your Future: career guidance and work skills
- Inspired Learning: learning and homework support, study skills, computer literacy and Saturday schools

The programme underwent strategic development and updating in 2017, and the SME is required to drive the coordinated delivery and enhanced performance of the CYD Managers
and CYD facilitators at all centres.

**Duties**:
Strategic development, content development and review,
implementation:

- High quality content for CYD manuals
- High quality facilitator guides
- Content that is applicable and useful for CYD pillars
- Trained facilitators
- Clear Standard Operated High quality content for CYD manuals Procedure documents
- Content developed and is useful for the LMS

Quality control and quality assurance:

- All pillars have clear QC processes and procedures
- Internal evaluation reports
- Monitoring of programme implementation PMEL team alignment

Stakeholder and supplier relationships
- New and ongoing stakeholder relationships
- New and ongoing service provider relationships
- SLAs with service providers and stakeholders

Liaison between Head Office and CYD teams
- Marketing materials that are useful

Evaluation, sharing and learning:

- PMEL activities useful and relate to the content
- Useful tools and instruments that are applicable to the programme and pillars
- Policy documents and reports

Reporting and fundraising
- Internal reports
- Funding reports
- Fundraising /concept notes
