**Role Purpose**

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12/Matric.
- 1-2 years underwriting experience.
- Health underwriting experience an advantage.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- The Medical Schemes Act (legislation);
- The Momentum Medical Scheme underwriting policy;
- Standards, protocols and guidelines set.
- Liaising with brokers, applicants, members and doctors where applicable with regards to underwriting decisions made either telephonically, in writing or in person as required.
- Effectively resolving any queries received and identifying trends and training gaps.
- Driving and supporting effective departmental team work.

**Additional Information**:

- Maintain a broad product, legislation and standards/protocols knowledge in order to effectively and accurately perform the role of an underwriter.
- Adhere to organisational best practice and legislative requirements.
- Identify risks to the company and escalate accordingly.
- Maintain a consistent service delivery to ensure client retention and satisfaction.
- Engage in appropriate training interventions to promote own professional development.
- Demonstrate the company's values on a daily basis.
