Underwriting Consultant

**Job description**:
The Underwriting Consultant will be responsible for coordinating and managing the underwriting and administrative processes and to assist the Advisor.
**Responsibilities**:
- Underwriting of existing business
- Liaising with clients
- Preparing quotations
- Issuing and managing new policies, renewals, and endorsements
- Handling client queries
- Building and maintaining good working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Recording details and information on the relevant systems
- General office assistance and administration
**Skill sets required**:
- Grade 12
- Fully computer literate (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- NQF Level 4 - Full qualification (short-term insurance) as set by regulation
- Regulatory examination 1 (Representatives) RE5 successfully completed
- DOFA confirmation from FSCA
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in underwriting / admin on a commercial book of business
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transport / HCV underwriting essential
- Teal and Cardinal experience
- Exposure to broking / advising will be advantageous
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent planning and organising skills
- Problem solving and analysis
- Good negotiation skills
- Team player
- Resilient with a good level of stress tolerance
- Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Highly client-focused with good interpersonal skills
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Centurion, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
