**About the Role**:
Lead the daily operations within the Receiving Team to ensure accurate and timely receiving processes with maximum efficiency.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

**Management of Receiving**
- Proactively plan inbound activities in advance to ensure goods are offloaded, accurately checked and binned to support Outbound in meeting OTIF.
- Have a good understanding for the planning of stock flow and dependencies on orders for easy picking.
- Ensure stock accuracy is maintained throughout the receiving and binning process.
- Maintain security measures at all times.
- Attend weekly Brand meetings to understand inbound volumes and highlight anticipated delays. As well as to address any functional challenges where receiving requires corrective action from the Brand i.e Master Data.
- Leading efforts to ensure that all products are received correctly and in a method that is acceptable to internal customers.
- Conduct daily meetings with all receiving staff to keep them up-to-date with all inbound activity and expectations, especially when there is a requirement to work overtime.
- Effective communication and planning with the Shipping Department as well as Freight Forwarders to ensure that shipments are receipted to not incur unnecessary additional charges while maintaining a steady flow of product into the DC, i.e. avoid bottle necks.
- Measure all inbound staff using the relevant KPI and Metrics to ensure receiving operates within SLA.
- Ensure SOP is adhered to while regularly reviewing the SOP and updating it with relevant and required changes.
- Recruit and train new team members on all receiving processes and provide continuous follow up.
- Monitoring for adequate order of supplies and equipment needs as well as maintaining all equipment.
- Performing additional duties in other areas of the DC as assigned or as required.
- Ensure the daily housekeeping of department and functional areas.

**Staff Management**
- Provide coaching assistance to the receiving team members and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Support the attraction and retention of qualified and motivated workforce while fostering new ideas for improvements from team members.
- Continuously develop the team and ensure Warehouse Assistants are cross trained to provide adequate coverage in key processes.
- Assisting with the evaluation of employee performance, handle employee relations matters and maintain an environment of respect and accountability.

**Health and Safety**
- Accountable for the compliance to company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Carry out investigations into any accidents or near-miss incidents.

**Education & Experience Requirements**
- Essential: Matric Certificate
- Desirable: Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management
- Essential: Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Distribution, Warehousing; with emphasis on the Retail Footwear; Apparel/Fashion Industry.
- Minimum of 3 years in directly managing people to deliver results.
- Knowledge of warehouse layout and flow design.
