**_ Position Purpose:_**
- Provide leadership and guidance in the design and development of leading youth development programs, products and
service offerings for delivery within Transnet and to external clients locally and on the African continent
- Translate the National Skills Development Mandate and future capability needs into learning and development requirements
in order to identify the current and future youth development imperatives of the organisation
- Design a standardised range of Youth Development Programmes based on identified learning requirements for Transnet
- Engage and collaborate with external higher education partners, industry, Transnet Operating Divisions and external clients
on best-in-class methodologies, practices and technologies aimed at optimal youth development, and develop curriculum
- solutions that are business-relevant
- Lead and direct the development and utilization of innovative digital learning solutions to maximize access and enable
self-directed learning
- Manage and ensure compliance to relevant statutory and regulatory requirements in the development and delivery of all
products and service offerings
- Accountable for learner programme management and the capacity building pipeline for the organisation (including Operating
Divisions) to provide the skills required by the business for execution of its strategic objectives
- Manage the full value chain of youth development interventions for Transnet
- Implement learning and development policies, processes and frameworks related to full
time bursaries, Chartered Accountants-in-Training, and Work-Integrated Learning across the enterprise
**_ Position outputs:_**
Youth Development
- Develop a business-relevant strategy for youth development and ensure effective implementation thereof within the
organisation. Support the implementation of strategic Youth Development programmes across the business
- Ensure that Youth Development Programmes in Transnet achieve the following:
- Give effect to the shareholder mandate
- o Develop pipeline ahead of demand to enable the achievement of the organisation’s strategic workforce requirements
- Implement youth development and employment initiatives to respond to the country's socio-economic challenges
- o Promote the organisation’s brand, reputation and corporate citizenship- Manage, monitor and coordinate the planning, identification, implementation and embedding of all agreed youth talent
management programmes within the business to support effective development and sound return on investment for Transnet
and external clients
- Lead and guide the development and rollout of learning and development curricula, courses and initiatives aimed at youth
development, employing best practice models, technology and processes to ensure optimal learning
- Lead conversations with external clients and Transnet Operating Divisions for the development of leading and
business-relevant Youth Development curricula and programs (i.e Engineers in Training, Technician in Training, CAT, WIL,
- learnerships etc ) that support operational and commercial business excellence
- Lead and guide the development of flexible and appropriate arning interventions for delivery through digital and other
channels to meet the diverse needs of Transnet and external clients, including cross-border delivery of learning solutions
- Lead and guide innovation to include the virtualization of learning solutions to improve the Academy’s service offerings in
line with its vision and strategy, including:
- O Blended offerings to accommodate all types of instruction and learning
O Delivery of digitalized learning solutions to increase the reach and scope of service offerings
- Design e-learning courses, simulations, workshops, classroom training, and delivery of learning through various
technologies and methodologies
