Maintenance Supervisor, Witbank

Our client currently has an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor, reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager. This position is required to provide effective planning, organizing and execution of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation & condition monitoring (E, M, I & CM) Trade resources, technical supervision of the maintenance team & maintenance support services to the operation & maintenance of their water reclamation plant.

The successful incumbent will be a qualified Millwright / Fitter / Electrician with recognized Mechanical / Electrical apprenticeship & Trade test (section 13) with at least 8 years’ experience as artisan. Millwright will be preferred. Must have a strong Mechanical & Electrical background to analyze and be able to trouble shoot accurately and quickly and give support and guidance to artisans.

Reports to: Plant Maintenance Manager
Key responsibilities:
Supervisory management, scheduling and coordination of an E, M, I & CM maintenance team w.r.t. performing preventative, corrective and condition based predictive maintenance trouble shooting and repairs.
Ensure that equipment preventative maintenance, predictive vibration analysis, IR scanning and performance evaluation (i.e. compressors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, machinery and assemblies) as per preventative maintenance schedule and corrective ad-hoc requirements are performed, reported, recorded actioned and closed out.
Assist in the monitoring and submission of detailed monthly reporting on E, M, I & CM equipment condition, preventative and corrective work, both performed and outstanding and all relevant contractual / project aspects & requirements.
Ensure adherence to established communication lines and reporting requirements.
Ensure prompt completion and submission of completed PM schedules, job cards and timesheets and relevant departmental documentation.
Ensure safety and housekeeping meets the standards as set out in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act at high level and comply with all applicable ISO system requirements and ensure continual improvement of these systems.
Ensure that specified, approved and contractual required stock levels are kept & controlled at all times high standard of monitoring and reporting on electro-mechanical plant condition.
Assist with specifications, sourcing, quality control of equipment required / refurbished / repaired as well as pricing, tendering and implementation on new electrical, mechanical and civil installations.
Manage and attend to break-downs and prioritize jobs promptly.
Supervision, management, training and coordination of the maintenance team.

**Job Qualification & Experience**:
Qualifications/Experience
Qualified Millwright / Fitter / Electrician with recognized Mechanical / Electrical apprenticeship & Trade test (section 13) with at least 8 years’ experience as artisan is preferred. Millwright will be preferred.
Must have a strong Mechanical & Electrical background to analyze and be able to trouble shoot accurately and quickly and give support and guidance to artisans.
Relevant project execution experience with proven record of satisfactory prior performance.
Min five years’ Supervision experience of maintenance team within large E,M&I installations with proven record of satisfactory prior performance.
Five years relevant experience in maintenance of large electrical and mechanical installations. Must have a strong electrical background and be able to trouble shoot accurately and quickly.

Sound knowledge of Water treatment processes with strong technical knowledge of mechanical-, electrical
- and instrumentation work.
Operational and safety procedures pertaining to maintenance activities, including safe use of tools and hand tools.
