Who are we?
Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for the provision of a digitally enabled technology service as a group COE, drive business and transformation and provide group-wide digital and data architecture. We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam. What will you do?
The role falls within the Group Technology Strategy Team, which has a direct line into the CIO of the Sanlam Group.

As a Strategy Principal, you will play a key role in formulating, driving and pivoting the strategy behind how Sanlam uses technology to achieve their objectives and drive differentiated market propositions, which includes shaping objectives, defining how objectives will be met, and being a part of guiding and measuring implementation.

What will make you successful in this role?
Knowledge of enterprise technology and data practices, trends, challenges, operating model considerations and structuring transformation plans.
Considerable strategy and technology strategy development experience, preferably within Tier 1 consulting firms or working as part of a strategy team in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
Part of the role will entail coordinating strategies and capability developing initiatives across the multiple clusters within the group, while working with senior stakeholders to gain deeper insight into problems, constraints and opportunities, and shape fit-for-purpose solutions to address them.
Ability to structure strategy into tangible action plans and capability-level change requirements.
Good numerical and analytical skills, as well as data aggregation and analysis.
Understanding of, or experience in, financial services.

Able to work effectively in a team Qualification
University degree with 5 to 7 years relevant industry experience within technology strategy or strategy consulting equivalent
CA (SA) or engineering qualifications may help you with analytical part of the role
