Assistant Project Manager

Are you passionate about uplifting local communities, developing practical skills, and helping small businesses thrive? We're a dynamic non-profit organisation based in Strand focused on local skills development. We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Assistant Project Manager / Trainer to join our team.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate and oversee daily operations of our skills development centre
- Develop, plan, and facilitate hands-on training for small groups of unskilled or unemployed individuals
- Support the growth of our on-site gift and coffee shop through team coordination, focused marketing & promotion and customer engagement
- Assist with basic marketing and social media to grow visibility and community support
- Organise and manage small community events
- Maintain a clean, punctual, and professional working environment
- Supervise 2 Front of House staff members
- Communicate effectively in English with trainees, funders, and team members
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in local, underserved communities
- Experience in training or facilitation of practical skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Comfortable with basic social media marketing (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English
- A hands-on, detail-oriented approach and a genuine heart for community upliftment
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours during events or workshops
- Own transport & drivers licence
**Advantageous**:
- Prior experience in community-based enterprise, community training project, small business mentorship programme
- Occupational Therapy or Social work qualification
- Afrikaans or isiXhosa as additional language
- Graphic design, photography, or Canva skills
