An exciting opportunity for a Payroll Manager at a well-established company within the retail space has become available. We are looking for someone that is well seasoned within the payroll function and has a high attention to detail and accuracy and is a great team player.

Duties & Responsibilities
- To manage the payroll operations, ensuring that each stage of the payroll process is properly actioned, that all staff are paid correctly and that correct payments are made.
- To provide advice to staff and management on payroll related matters
- Plan and direct payroll accounting activities within the finance department by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinates
- Ensures that payroll is always up to date with current government legislation and company policies and procedures
- Responsible for all payroll system maintenance, upgrade and parameter changes as and when required
- Ensuring the accuracy of the payroll preparation, payroll processing, payroll accounting, employee’s tax filing and ad hoc payroll payments
- Maintenance and control of documentation is done continuously
- Employee file audits to be done regularly
- Upload all payroll journals and intercompany payroll
- Reconcile and review all balance sheet control accounts relating to payroll and provide reconciliations
- Capture and reconcile the salary bank account on a monthly basis, in line with monthly deadlines
- Prepare reports for management relating to payroll as and when needed and assist with budget preparations
- Supervise and coordinate activities of subordinates and ensure that monthly timetables and deadlines are met timeously
- Manage two subordinates - responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these individualsFinancial reports

**Skills & Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years experience in a payroll position dealing with all facets of the payroll function ( non-negotiable)
- 3 years in a managerial position
- **SAGE 300 People software experience (non -negotiable)**
- Excel - Advanced

**Qualifications**:
B.Comm /Payroll diploma or degree or HR any related qualification
