Market Access Manager: Vaccines

Our Market Access team monitor population demographics and develop solutions to give patients access to our medicines. We act as both educators and advocates for our products, processes, and practices that help us revolutionize how our medicines create value in society.
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Actively participates as cross-functional access partner to commercial Vaccines, Hospital Acute Care and HIV business units to advise on product pricing and market access strategies in collaboration with regional and global market access teams
- Value demonstration to health payors to secure improved reimbursement of Our Company's Vaccines and Infectious Diseases portfolios.
- Development of differentiated strategies for improved private market vaccines reimbursement across key sub-Saharan African markets.
- Funder and/or payor collaboration to support vaccines consumer activation and uptake.
- Customer engagement and support to ensure anti-infectives usage in alignment with anti-microbial stewardship best practice and to ensure optimal funder reimbursement.
- Support in shaping the broader vaccines reimbursement landscape.
- Establish and grow traditional and non-traditional payor relationships across South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa.
- Internal and external price approvals and management of price files.
- Ensuring assigned goals and objectives are met and that assigned projects and other work are completed on time, to high standards and within budget.
- Responsible for reporting adverse experiences or events (AEs), adverse device events (ADEs), product quality complaints (PQCs) and other reportable information, customer feedback (CF), alleged counterfeiting, diversion and tampering (CDT) that they become aware of to the Designated Point of Contact (DPOC)
**Key Attributes**
- Understands the market access landscape with Particular focus on Vaccines, Hospital Acute Care and HIV.
- In depth understanding of the reimbursement process from funders and Managed Health Care Organization.
- Knowledge of the policy environment, industry and public health trends and the implications on our company's business priorities.
- Knowledge of processes and key stakeholders associated with healthcare budgeting and financing; pricing; development of national disease policy, establishment of EDL and treatment guidelines, as well as health procurement.
- Experience with funder negotiations and value arguments in relation to health interventions with a focus on vaccines and infectious diseases.
- Understanding of Health Technology Assessment best-practice
- Key understanding of the various functions of the Department of Health and a broad understanding of State sector and its influence on access.
- Understand the basic concepts of alternative reimbursement strategies, dossier formulations and PARF completions.
- Interface and partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive the concept of reimbursement strategies
- Exploring innovative solutions to meet business and National health objectives.
- Have a high degree of intellectual curiosity; superior organizational, preparation, and analytical skills and a strong work ethic.
- A business development mindset with experience or exposure to other Subsaharan Africa markets advantageous
- Comfortable working on multiple initiatives in a highly dynamic environment, as well as the ability to remain calm under pressure and/or in ambiguous situations is crucial.
- Responsible improving reimbursement for products through the development and implementation of innovative pricing and reimbursement models
- Maturity to be challenged regarding concepts and thinking from colleagues

**Health Economics**
- Understanding of Pharmacoeconomic principles and model adaptations
- Development of product specific plans that help position key products/brands with payers (private &public) and other applicable stakeholders. Continuously strengthen the economic evidence base of products. meet deadlines, work autonomously, analyse, plan, develop and implement market access related strategies.
**Education**
- Matric and a Tertiary Education in health sciences or economics
**Qualification and Experience**
- Clinical experience/background advantageous and/or funder, MHO and CMS experience advantageous
- Min 3yrs experience in Market Access or a related access field
- Pharmaceutical product knowledge;
