Warehouse and Logistics Manager: Food Distribution

**PURPOSE**: To manage and lead the full warehouse and distribution function including managing of business assets to maximize profitability, maintain operational standards, ensure excellent customer service and compliance with the relevant Acts.

**EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Matric or equivalent
- Related post-graduate qualification and advantage

**WORK EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a food service / warehouse & logistics / retail environment
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management role
- Relevant computer experience, specifically Excel
- Relevant food and wholesale experience
- Packaging experience will be an advantage

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**

Execute daily tasks and work instructions according to relevant Procedures and instruction from senior management

**ADMINISTRATION**
- Comply with all relevant management reporting processes
- Manage all the procedures and ensure controls are adhered to in the warehouse
- Compliance to various laws and regulations
- Maintain relevant maintenance and registers for business assets

**OPERATIONS & CUSTOMER CARE**
- Ensure all operational standards are implemented and maintained at the warehouse as required by the Company
- Comply with all relevant checklists & evaluations as set out by the Company and ensure audit compliance pertaining to the business in which the warehouse operates
- Plan all routes for deliveries and ensure on-time execution and deliveries
- Monitoring of drivers and routes - both CCTV and tracking
- Interface with customers & clients, resolve queries and complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Ensure the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely and accurate dispatch of all goods - ensure all relevant procedures remain in place and are adhered to
- Ensure maintenance procedures are efficiently carried out and adherence to the required maintenance schedules and warehouse standards

**STAFF MANAGEMENT**
- Oversee that all warehouse staff’s time and attendance is monitored and controlled
- Manage staffs’ performance standards and adhere to company timeframes for performance management
- Ensure staff developed, training needs identified and relevant training implemented in liaison with senior management
- Interview and hire applicants when vacancies arise
- Ensure all staff adhere to company’s disciplinary code and be involved in disciplinary process as required
- Ensure all related salary & wage information is being submitted to relevant payroll administrators by the due dates

**HEALTH & SAFETY**
- Ensure appointed Health & Safety Officer complies with all safety standards and regulations
- Ensure all staff are knowledgeable of the warehouse’s emergency procedures, where all emergency shut-offs and exits are located and assist customers when necessary in case of an emergency
- Ensure that the warehouse is a safe, clean and a healthy environment at all times
- Carry out any duty or requirement imposed on The Business by the Occupational, Health & Safety (OHS) Act
- Report any unsafe or unhealthy situations to senior management
- Ensure that the requirements of the OHS Act are complied with by all team members

**GENERAL**
- Perform and carry out any other ad hoc duties as and when required by senior management
- Liaise with different personnel, as is required, to prevent delays and on-time delivery
- Ensure high quality standards of work are adhered to at all times
