-The main purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate and implement the stakeholder engagement plan among identified relevant stakeholders and the public to improve and broaden the general understanding of the role of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), to build trust, and to proactively guide and influence public perceptions of the SARB regarding its decisions and actions. -Detailed Description Develop and regularly update a stakeholder engagement strategy, as well as a segmented database of stakeholders and interest groups to enable targeted engagement. - Analyse the identified stakeholder segments, in collaboration with other SARB departments, for engagement opportunities and to disseminate relevant information. - Compile a balanced engagement plan for identified stakeholder groups, with the objective to: - broaden the accessibility of the key information of the SARB and its policies; improve the level of transparency of the SARB’s policy objectives; build trust with stakeholders; enhance the basic understanding of the SARB’s policy decisions; build a two-way communication channel as part of the SARB’s drive for greater transparency and accountability; and gain a good understanding of external developments which may impact on the work of the SARB. Create a detailed schedule of activities and events that drive engagement with all of the SARB’s stakeholders. - Deliver on the engagement plan in a professional and timeous manner. - Compile reports of a high quality on engagement initiatives and provide insights on future initiatives and activities. - Coordinate and implement education and information campaigns focused at specific stakeholder groups, through various channels, to enhance accessibility and achieve maximum impact. - Collaborate with the media team to identify relevant media channels that could yield maximum reach, impact and engagement. - Produce quality communication materials for various channels that are relevant and accessible to stakeholder groups. - Coordinate meetings and engagements with strategic stakeholders, both internally and externally. - Assess and review information campaigns and engagements with stakeholders to determine their effectiveness. - Assist with compiling reports of the environment (i.e. social, political and economic) to further aid effective engagement with stakeholders. - Provide the insights, recommendations and inputs received from stakeholder groups in a professional and timeous manner. - Channel the insights, findings and recommendations to the Team Leader: Stakeholder Engagement and Public Outreach. - Remain current with changes that will enhance and streamline the stakeholder engagement planning process. - Strictly comply with expected standards, policies and procedures, and ensure that all legislative requirements pertaining to stakeholder engagement and public outreach are met. Job Requirements the minimum of a National Diploma in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations, or an equivalent qualification; and - 3-5 years’ experience in a stakeholder management/strategic communications environment, preferably with exposure to public education and excellent report writing environments.
