**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
Process Specialist for Customs is responsible for balancing the SARS deferment statement. She/ he is also responsible for actioning and resolving imbalances on weekly interim statement before pay date.

The job also requires processing payments on efiling and ensuring the balances on efiling is sufficient for daily, weekly and monthly running

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Action queries received by Operations CW1 and liaising with the respective customs brokers
- Management of queries and escalation process (with either SARS or customs national team)
- Ensure correct credit request/dispute processes are followed
- Proactive approach to avoid out any balancing discrepancies
- Accurate and on time reporting
- Maintain and build good relationships with SARS and Customs National Team
- Perform root cause analysis and put in place corrective action to achieve 100% balancing on deferment statement to SAP
- Ensure payments are made on time and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Ensure that all tasks are done as per DSV policies, both local and global, at all times
- Send Proof of payment to operations on time within the same day as payment, where needed
- Provide supporting documentation and other audit requirements
- Perform any ad-hoc duties as required by immediate supervisor or management
