WATER AND SANITATION Senior Superintendent
**Requirements**:

- Trade Tested Artisan (Electrical Engineering) and N6 Certificate in

Electrical Engineering Heavy Current OR
- 3-year tertiary qualification, preferably a National Diploma in

Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current)
- SANS 10142-1 Low Voltage Wiring Regulations
- Registered 3 phase installation or Master Electrician will be

considered and advantageous
- Five (5) years or more experience in a supervisory technical position

required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience should be within the

context of electrical equipment maintenance.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

and Regulations
- Municipal Finance Management Act, 2004
- Computer Literacy: MS Office, SAP or computerized maintenance

system
- Valid driver’s licence.

Key Performance Areas
- Maintenance functions. Supervise and co-ordinate all Electrical

Engineering maintenance functions within a clearly defined area
- People management. To ensure people management and

empowerment is properly utilized.
- Financial management. To ensure financial management and

minimize maintenance cost without compromising the
maintenance of assets.
- Managing operational processes. Co-ordinates and controls tasks /

activities associated with controlling personnel performance,
productivity and discipline,
- Planning and scheduling. Plans, prioritises and schedules project

and maintenance work,
- Contract management. Participating in the formulation and

specification of specific contracts and tender documents,
controlling and implementing contractual obligations for all
Electrical Engineering repairs (breakdowns and fault finding)
and maintenance and infrastructure upgrades, within the Region.
