**Requirements**:

- Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and NQF 3 Water

Treatment/Trade Tested Artisan or National Diploma in
Watercare/Civil Engineering
- 5 years’ relevant experience with minimum 2 years relevant

supervisory experience
- A valid driver’s licence code B
- Computer Literacy (SAP; PM Maintenance) and

associated program’s.
- Knowledge of handling Hazardous Chemicals and

maintenance of equipment.
- Required to work in all weather conditions; work outside

normal working hours; standby duties; work during
emergencies and structured and planned overtime.
Key Performance Areas
- Manage the effective supply of potable water; in order to

ensure that an optimal quality, volume, flow rate and
pressure is discharged to the Reservoirs and Reticulation
Branch.
- To manage delegated statutory duties; in order to ensure

compliance with the Dam Safety Regulations in terms of
the National Water Act (1998) Section 123 (1), and provide
early warning of any serious defects that require
specialist advice.
- Manage the various pipelines within the area of authority;
in order to ensure that the conveyance infrastructure is
protected to ensure a continuous supply of
treated / raw water.
- Manage tasks and activities associated with the functioning

of the depot infrastructure / facilities / plant and equipment;
in order to ensure laid down statutory and regulatory
requirements and guidelines associated with the operations
of the Depot are implemented, and that deviations are
promptly attended to and corrected.
- Plan, prioritises and schedules routine work, operational

projects & maintenance work; in order to ensure the
Depot is capably positioned in terms of material,
